So far as I could tell, nginx doesn't provide any stats out to snmp. This is something we like to watch closely so I put together the following based on a script I found here - http://www.kutukupret.com/2011/05/31/how-to-graph-nginx-statistics/
So, we bought a bunch of new cisco phones to replace some failing SNOM devices around the place. Realizing a chance to implement some great functionality, I decided to use chan-sccp-b to run them on the SCCP protocol instead of sip. I've put together some steps to help you through the process, and the module I wrote for freepbx (and how to expose that through to the elastix gui)
Well, if you're anything like us, you'll have all sorts of tiered update computer targets, and you'll be staging your updates between them.
Usually it'll be something along the lines of DEV -> UAT -> PRE_PRODUCTION -> PRODUCTION
So, how do you get updates that have been developed against in DEV to UAT, or from UAT to PREPROD, or PREPROD into production?
for those that know me... ASP Classic is a pain I have to deal with every day... the simplest things that you've come to accept from every other language is just painful in ASP Classic. Every time I have to do something that I shouldn't have to do, I try to help as many people as possible not have to work it out for themselves. Here is a function to escape a string for use in JS. Enjoy.
We've had this one for a while, decided to put some power monitoring on it to graph the usage...
We just got a pair of AP8959EU3 Managed power rails, and decided to point MRTG at it to graph our power usage...
#junipered - to be promised a service or a product that was not delivered
#ciscoed - When you deliver the products and solutions that the customer wants, when the customer wants it.
After a huge amount of effort, lots of "status 1" lots of "can't open /cache/recovery/log " ... I stumbled across this site - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1150917
This is the config I'm recommending for people running cisco 877's on iinet. feel free to post back with any amendments.
config working on IOS 12.4(24)T3
last one - TPG Usernames for use on dialing up from your router..
should be in the format firstname.lastname@example.org
Again, keep getting asked this one, TPG uses PPPoE which works a little differently in terms of MTU and MSS.
I found the best settings for me were
on a cisco router this is achieved by
ip tcp adjust-mss 1452
ip mtu 1492
Keep getting asked this one, for some reason.
here they are, the TPG DNS (Domain Name Servers)
Been asked about this a bit over the last few weeks. It's official.. go forth and update to 10.7
I had the strangest issue last week, featured images from wordpress would not appear on a facebook post... sometimes.
We use a wildcard certificate issued by CompleteSSL to do alot of our web mail and services hosting. I renewed it a week ago and installed today, to find that the certificate was missing a trust, even though I had installed an intermediate certificate.
Having had to use this on a very large database, I've made some small changes to the index fragmentation statistics script. this time to include table names (object_name) as well as database_name.
Decoding Windows Script Encoder encoded scripts
isn't that a mouthful? Microsoft released this in 2001 - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=e7877f67-c447-4873-b1b0-21f0626a6329 which is a way of obscurifying vbscript (like ASP) scripts so that people can't change or copy your code. Great, right? well, as with most script encoding (zend encoder aside, others I'm sure), it doesn't do a very good job of it, and more makes it annoying to debug asp pages when the developers encode their includes.
Well.. I picked up one of these amazing devices last year direct from china.. Loads of fun. A friend in my building did the same and plenty of dog fights later, we had some engine failures (after discovering the flying just above another drone makes their drown drop to the ground... conflicting altitude sensor??). While they are being fixed... I decided to have a think about what I'd like to get out of the drones...
Well, my cisco 1232 just arrived and was promptly set up - thought I'd share some config with everyone to save someone the bother of writing their own. This replaced my existing Apple aiport extreme. Every home needs a cisco access point.
The earth isn't flat. Sometimes you feel like over engineering a simple problem just because you can.
Late last year I put together a mobile web interface and used google maps for a store locator. I also had to use ASP Classic.
In the mids of this it struck me that a customer might find they were a few meters off from the actual distance from their current position, to what I'm reporting. Clearly this just won't do -so I re-worked it to compensate....in ASP CLASSIC, where most of the math is non existent.
Well, I just started upgrading the first drive in a 4 drive array in a HP AIO storage server. The problem is that the 3TB drive I put in only registered as 768GB, somewhat short of 3TB.
How to get xbox live working on your xbox behind a Cisco
Xbox Live needs TCP/3074, UDP/3074, UPD/88 forwarded to the xbox from the outside interface of the router
Xbox Connect needs TCP/8602 forwarded
Cisco rommon has a "secret"(not very well kept) section where you can execute some privileged commands.
Well, TPG uses PPPoE rather than PPPoA like most ISP, and there were a few issues with the MSS before my TPG was working correctly. Now it runs like a dream, no complaints at all.
I'll post the relevant sections below
I've got plenty of hosting resources spare at the moment, get in contact with me if you'd like any wordpress/joomla sites hosted. Will offer very competitive rates or beer currency for community projects.

Fontis wrote an eWay payment gateway module for magento which works really well, but it doesn't support beagle (anti-fraud) stuffs. I've written a quick patch to change the gateway url and append the necessary fields. Minimal testing has been peformed. Highly recommend sandbox/heavy testing before production use.
Artists need to pay the rent. Venues need music. iPods need cheap music. Piracy is too easy.
Back in the day, as a DJ, you used to spend an entire day in a record store - bottle of coke in hand, delicately handling around 50 new circles of wax every weekend, wondering which ones you'd like to spent your hard earned cash on. Normally you'd walk out with a handful, and before you even go them out of the store, you'd know the inside and out, every peak, every breakdown, you loved it.
Now days, Beatport, juno and djdownload have made it entirely too easy to download from pre-compiled lists and suggestive downloads. This is a great time saver but its terrible for the industry as...
Sometimes it doesn't make sense to rebuild all of your indexes as part of a maintenance plan. You may have mirroring running with large db tables, and your indexes may be several GB. As part of your maintenance schedule, I recommend manually finding fragmented indexes and rebuilding them yourself (or scripting this)
To do this you, you need to locate the indexes -- anything over 50% can be considered a problem.
